The key
benefits of TRT
Testosterone plays a key part in so many areas of our health that when we don’t have enough of it, the symptoms can be very varied; from poor sleep and low mood, to issues with erectile dysfunction and stubborn weight gain. TRT is a UK-licensed treatment that's proven to help.

Hear it from
Sir Steve Redgrave
For men experiencing testosterone deficiency, TRT can quickly help alleviate their negative symptoms and get them feeling like the best version of themselves.
It's not always an instant fix; it can take up to six months to feel the full effect of the treatment. But the results can be transformative.

The scientifically-proven impact of TRT
We often describe testosterone replacement therapy as building a solid health foundation. It is likely to strengthen your bones, as well as helping you drop excess body fat and build more muscle.
But it’s not a quick fix, and it won’t compensate for a poor diet and lifestyle; you’ll still need to put in the work to see results.
Long-term testosterone replacement therapy has been proven to reduce fatigue in many of those experiencing low testosterone levels, giving them more energy, more drive, and more ‘get up and go’. Testosterone also plays a key part in how we feel. TRT appears to help improve and regulate the mood of those experiencing low testosterone levels.
Testosterone replacement therapy has been proven to increase the sex drive of many men experiencing low testosterone levels. It may also help with sexual performance.
Fine-tuning your testosterone levels
But not everyone turns to TRT because they’re experiencing negative symptoms. Some men just want to see if they can ‘optimise’ their natural testosterone levels to improve their health, well-being, and performance – whether they want to lift heavier weights, take on a more stressful job role, or have better sex. Testosterone is a powerful hormone, and this is a delicate balance to strike – but when it works, it can feel like unlocking a new and improved you.

Longer-term
benefits of TRT
Better heart health
For men experiencing low testosterone levels, several studies indicate that testosterone replacement therapy has a positive effect on heart health. Studies suggest it has a protective quality, reducing the number of cardiac events, such as heart attacks.
Improved bone mineral density
A decrease in bone mineral density (BMD) is a major issue of testosterone deficiency, although it’s one you’re unlikely to notice in day-to-day life.
A study found that patients with testosterone deficiency who opted for testosterone replacement therapy saw a major increase in their BMD, with the biggest increase happening in the first year and maintaining thereafter.
Reduced risk of developing type 2 diabetes
Diabetic or overweight men are more likely to experience testosterone deficiency, and it turns out the two are even more connected: a study in Australia showed that two years of testosterone replacement therapy significantly reduced the likelihood of overweight men developing type 2 diabetes.

“Testosterone replacement therapy in its current form is still relatively new on the scene, so there naturally haven’t been many long-term studies to assess the indirect impact on the body, and more evidence is needed to confirm the findings above. But the results so far are hopeful.”

The typical
TRT timeline
Wondering how quickly you’ll feel the benefit of testosterone replacement therapy? The journey looks different to everyone, but here’s a rough timeline for guidance:
1 month
You may start sleeping better, and notice you have a bit more ‘get up and go’. You may be able to concentrate better, and feel more positive and productive.
3 months
If you’re also eating well and exercising, you may start finding it easier to build muscle and lose extra weight.
6 months
You’re now feeling the full effect of your treatment. You have a better mindset, a better sex life, and are feeling healthier.
1 year
If you had low bone mineral density before starting treatment, it should now have increased to a normal level. It won’t increase much further, but it is likely to drop again if you stop treatment.
2 years+
Your chance of developing type 2 diabetes has decreased, and there’s also less chance of you having a heart attack. If you already had type 2 diabetes when you started treatment, you have it under better control, or it may even have reversed.

We've done our best to answer our most common enquiries, however if you have a query that isn't covered here then don't hesitate to get in touch with our customer service team.
TRT is designed to be a long-term treatment. If you do want to stop the therapy, your consultant can help you taper off your treatment, and your testosterone levels should return to their normal levels.
Poor sleep is one of the key downsides of having low testosterone, and TRT can help to put this right and get you sleeping well again. That said, if you already have sleep apnea (a serious sleep disorder), there’s a small risk that TRT will worsen it and further disrupt your sleep. So it’s a case of monitoring the impact of TRT on your body carefully, with the help of your doctor.
TRT is a UK-licensed treatment, and is perfectly safe when properly prescribed by a healthcare professional. TRT is a highly personalised treatment, so it is not safe to take testosterone that has not been prescribed to you.
